Sheffield Hallam University in the UK has received a grant worth GBP180,000
to research microrobotic vision systems. The target robot systems are a few
cubic centimetres in size and should be able to cut and move samples to
nanometre precisions on microscope slides. Chip failure analysis is one of
the possible applications. The work is in collaboration with universities in
six other European countries under the EU's MiCRoN Esprit project.
